I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. This hotel is GREAT! Location was amazing. My room was perfect. Very Clean, nice closet space, and big bathroom. I got a 2nd floor Superior room and it was huge. King bed and seating area. It overlooked the street but it was quiet. The Air Conditioning worked amazingly well in the middle of the heat wave. Cute shops and restaurants on the street. Turn the corner and there's a CASTLE! Working elevator to get luggage upstairs. Beautiful grand staircase down to the lobby. They hotel was great about checking in and providing information via WhatsApp text.
Excellent stay! I requested a courtyard room so it nice and quiet at night. We slept great. Room, bed, pillows all comfy. Separate toilet (with fan) from shower/sink; spacious and very clean. Kettle & espresso machine in the room. Excellent breakfast included.friendly staff. Terrific location. Beautiful old hotel. Reasonable price. We will definitely stay here when in Ghent!!
Nice hotel, nice old facade, cool interior with a bar and a small outside area. Nice original interior decor with many original features. Rooms are paired down but tastefully decorated. All have air-conditioning. There are lifts to all floor. Helpful reception staff. Breakfast if you choose it, is a typical continental one with a good selection of breads and pastries, good coffee and freshly squeezed juices. The breakfast room is adjacent to the main hotel. One mistake we made was on arrival at Gent Sint Pieters to walk to the hotel, don't!! It's 3.5km, pretty flat but negotiating road works and renovations to the station was a nightmare. Get a tram or an Uber. We were like two sweaty blobs when we arrived at the hotel. Probably an underestimated hotel but it is ideally located for all Ghent has to offer and the hotel is quiet. Would I recommend it and stay again? Certainly.
This used to be a mansion we were told by staff. Brilliant location. Room was very stuff and had flies in but over all clean. Check your room door when leaving. Ours didnt always lock once shut so we had to keep re-carsing from inside the room before we left for it to register to lock behind us. The room we had was situated over the car park, so no nice views. And loud delivery people early in the morning along with workmen woke us up. Slamming of other peoples doors was also another thing to make you jump! Having said that, the location is perfect. Not a lot of parking, plus a very confusing way to get to the carpark due to one way roads. Lots of little shops. Not all were open on a Monday. Tuesday was a busier day around town. You also have your usual shops about like primark etc. Loads of places to eat.
