Great location, everything can be reached by foot. About 15 minutes from the Ghent main station, easily reachable by public transport. The hotel has some cool amenities like a sauna, gym and swimming pool. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast could be better. Will recommend it for the very convenient location and good rooms.
Lovely hotel in a fabulous location right in the city centre. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice outdoor bar and a small pool. A little dated now and the aircon was struggling in the recent heatwave but we had a fan in the room which helped.
Perfect location, city center yet quiet. We stayed here for a workation in our home town during the heatwave. AC + pool = excellent chilltimes. Coincidentally on my wife's birthday, Serda at front desk made it extra special with some chocolates, late checkout and an extra treat during breakfast. She was very helpful during our whole stay. We booked suite 406, seemingly the only room with a balcony + the historic center view (which is amazing). Breakfast buffet was limited but good quality, with some Belgian nods. Baby crib was provided. Gym is small, 4 machines, no weights. Rooms slightly dated but totally compensated by location, pool and views. Can recommend!👌
Stayed 13–14 June 2026 My wife and I had an amazing stay at Novotel Gent. From the moment we arrived, Renata at reception made us feel very welcome. She was friendly, polite, professional, and always smiling. Her warm attitude set the tone for a fantastic stay. Thanks to my ALL membership status, we were fortunate to receive a room upgrade, which was greatly appreciated. The Executive Room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view over the city. The only minor downside was that some of the furniture felt a little dated, but this did not affect our overall comfort. The hotel’s location is outstanding, right in the heart of Ghent, making it perfect for exploring the city. If you’re arriving by car, as we did, you may be lucky enough to secure one of the hotel’s limited parking spaces (around 20 spots). Alternatively, the nearby city parking garage was actually cheaper for our stay and only about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. For guests with a lot of luggage, the hotel can make things even easier. Simply contact them in advance with your license plate number, and you’ll be allowed to enter the historic city center to unload directly in front of the hotel. Overall, it was a perfect experience. The staff were excellent, especially Renata, the location couldn’t be better, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars.
Overall, a decent hotel thanks to its staff. The main issues we experienced were: - very weak air conditioning (even at max setting several of us doubted whether it was on or not) - not great for the 32°C weather we experienced. The rooms contained fans but they were often too small. - the sofabeds not having mattresses in all four of our rooms, despite sofabed being in the description. The staff were able to move the family to a new room on the 2nd day - dated rooms with a musty smell - the hotel needs a renovation. That said, the staff did everything they could - I would like to mention Wael & Eduardo specifically for fixing all of our issues.
