Discover the Lesse and Meuse Valleys, two beautiful rivers, on a private day trip from Brussels. Visit the cities of Namur, Huy, and Bouillon, and see the Tombeau des Géants (Giant's Tomb). Enjoy a short visit to Dinant and see the Citadel. Depart from Brussels with your guide by car, and head to Namur. Visit the city (which is one the Belgium's regional capitals) and the big citadel before taking a lunch break. Continue to Huy and explore the old city and the citadel. Next, head to Bouillon and visit the famous castle. See the Tomb of the Giant, an exceptional natural point of view. Continue to Dinant and enjoy a short visit and point of view from the Citadel. At the top of the cliff, see the citadel of Dinant. It was built on the foundations of an old castle built in 1040 but razed by the sacking of Dinant by Charles the Bold in 1466. Then, come back to Brussels with your guide in private transportation. Did you know it ? Under Louis XIV, Dinant was French. Vauban decided to modify the building, and the king installed his court in 1692. Between 1818 and 1821, modifications were made by the Nearlanders, which can still be seen today. During the First World War, the French armed the fort to defend the neutrality of Belgium and prevent the Germans from crossing the Dinant bridge that connects Cologne to Paris.
