The second we stepped through the entrance, a full swoosh of 70s vibes washed over us. Stunning design, top to bottom, lobby, bar, elevators, rooms, all of it. Every piece of furniture, every custom little detail. I loved it. Genuinely struggled to rest my eyes or put the camera down, which my girlfriend noticed and took personally, she ended up with fewer photos of herself than the hallway got. Sorry love. Your time will come. We lucked into a corner room with a killer view all day long. Original exposed concrete left in, paired with elegant retro decor, somehow it all just worked together. Did I mention I liked the design? I did? Okay, moving on. Loved the little touches, like the breakfast bag you hang outside your door to be filled with morning joy shaped like fruit, pastries, and juice. Genuinely lovely idea. Laundry ran on the same cute concept, though the per-item pricing felt steep, my socky socks don't worth that much. Calling reception or room service, on the other hand, felt properly retro. Not because of the phone's design, because of how long it took for anyone to pick up. We tried our luck at the rooftop bar, but showed up right into someone's private happy birthday party for a kid in very trendy oversized pants. We were hoping for a chill, laid back evening bar vibe. We did not get it. We got a toddler's birthday instead. Overall: definitely would come back if we visit again, no doubts. Super cool, chill, a genuine feast for the eyes hotel. Now please, for the love of god, fix the goddamn phone line. Functionality comes first.
The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious, and the decoration is really nice. Unfortunately, the service does not match the quality of the hotel. At night, we called the front desk to solve an issue with the TV, but they were not helpful at all. Also, in the morning, while having breakfast at Cantina Valentina, the hotel’s restaurant, the staff was very rude. Breakfast is served until 11 a.m., but 15 minutes before closing, the person at the restaurant’s entrance was already telling guests that breakfast was over, while the rest of the staff was already taking the food away. It’s a pity that the staff takes away from what could otherwise be a really great experience as a guest at such a beautiful hotel.
Our stay has been lovely and everyone has truly been so accommodating and welcoming . Specifically at the Cantina Valentina- the food has truly been incredible ! And at the Lobby bar , ask for Ilona! She has made our experience one to remember ! Her cocktails and her energy have been so inviting and made our stay worth it ! We will be coming back !
I genuinely love this hotel, which is why this review is so disappointing to write. I've stayed at The Hoxton Brussels multiple times because the rooms, atmosphere and overall experience are great. It has always been one of my favorite places to stay in Brussels. Unfortunately, every single stay has been overshadowed by the same payment issue. Despite paying the invoice in full before arrival, the hotel charges my card again for the full room amount at check-out. Each time, I have to spend several days chasing them to get my money back. This latest stay has been even more frustrating. It's now been almost a month, and the authorization hold on my card still hasn't been released. Despite multiple follow-ups, the hotel has refused to contact their bank to help resolve the issue, simply telling me to wait. What disappoints me most is the lack of care shown to a returning guest. Mistakes can happen, but when the same problem occurs repeatedly and there is little effort to resolve it promptly, it becomes difficult to justify coming back. It's a shame because I truly enjoy staying here. However, after experiencing the same issue on every visit and receiving so little support afterward, I won't be staying at The Hoxton Brussels again.
Dionysios made an outstanding Daiquiri Sour- perfectly balanced, fresh, and exceptionally smooth. The citrus was bright without overpowering the rum, and the texture was silky with a beautiful foam. A simple cocktail executed at a very high level. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail.
