Great service and amenities, but watch out for the AC in summer heat! I had a decent one-night stay. The staff was wonderful and kindly granted me an early check-in. The room was lovely, breakfast was great, and the free minibar was a nice touch. The complimentary airport shuttle is very useful, though you do need to book it online ahead of time. The only real issue was the central air conditioning—it couldn't fight the +35°C heat, leaving the room very hot and making it hard to sleep. Perfect for a short stay, but hopefully, they can boost the cooling system!
We stopped here as part of our Shearings river cruise holiday, where it was used as an overnight stopover while on our return. So 126 guests all arriving at the same time was probably quite stressful for the hotel team, however our room is large with a big bed, walk in shower in a spacious bathroom, all exactly what was needed. An evening meal was available (extra cost) whilst breakfast was included. Not somewhere to stay for an extended period but great for our needs, so definitely recommended 👍
After a rough start missing our flight in Amsterdam early morning, rescheduling via brussels to fly the next morning. Checking which hotel too choose after the news. Happy we choose Van Der Valk. Cheyenne from reception for her help and +service, the fantastic team at the bar and restaurant made it so great that we forgot the rough start, they really made it good!! Rooms clean, nice and good beds. Food good but the staff is + top!
The hotel is fine, very close to the airport (you can see it from the window). The rooms are large and clean, a coffee machine, a small kettle and small fridge in the room. However, the service is a bit strange. They charged me separately for every service I used and told me that this is “standard practice in hotels” (?). Later, during dinner with a few other people, they split the bill equally among all guests, regardless of who ordered what, whether just drinks or a full dinner. It wasn’t my first business trip, but it was the first time I had encountered service like this. I have mixed feelings about whether I would recommend it to others.
