Excellent location. Only a few minutes walk to the town square. Check in was quick and easy. The rooms is spacious and clean. They also have a free coffee and water machine at the reception so you can have a pick me up before your lovely adventure in Gent. We only stayed for the night and we will definitely return if we in Gent again.
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Location was great as it was so central. The walk from the station to/from the hotel is doable by walking (we did it a few times) but you could easily take a tram. We like to walk and explore. The receptionist were all lovely and friendly. We asked for extra pillows and it was no problem at all. Loved the fact you had a choice of hot drinks in Reception as well as water. The room was clean which to me is extremely important- infact the whole Hotel was very clean. Loved how the wall opposite Reception was decorated and you could sit in Reception which was light and airy. Good choice for breakfast, hot food, continental breakfast, cereal. Yogurt and fruit and of course fresh pastries and some very tasty bread. My overall issue was that there was definitely a fault with the heating/cooling system as it was too cold at times especially in the evenings which we should have been happy about as it was 30 degrees outside but it was just too cold at times and during breakfast. Waitresses need to clear tables a bit quicker and refill the fruit salad quicker , which was very popular. That being said, I would definitely stay at this hotel again for the above reasons, once the heating/cooling system was fixed. I didn’t realise this was a chain when I booked it and based on my experience I would definitely stay at another hotel in this chain.
This hotel was very close to the main attractions in Gent, and the air conditioning was excellent!! The hallways are carpeted but rooms are not. There was a gap under the door so you could hear people's conversations as they walked down the hallway, which made it noisy during certain parts of the day, but it was better after we put a towel down to block the gap. The windows are very insulated and the decor is updated. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.
We were given a nice big family room even though we were a couple which was spotless and very quiet. There was no coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms nor bottled water (unlike in Antwerp) however there is free tea and coffee and a place to fill water bottles in the foyer. We opted to display the “don’t service my room” sign on our door and were rewarded with a 5 euro voucher which got us two packets of crisps when we left. Staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked last minute on hotels.com and got a fantastic room with a great view of the belfry. The room was small, but extremely clean, and perfect for an overnight stay. Free coffee, water, fruit, and croissants were always a nice treat. Location great too. Highly recommended.
