The location is very good, very close to the Gravensteen and the city centre. Easy to get everywhere. The breakfast is okay, not too many choices, but still enough. The lobby is big and lots of chairs and tables. The hallway is very hot because no windows open. The bunk bed room is clean but muggy(no air conditioners). Because the window is chained, we can't keep the window fully open. The toilet and the shower room are in the dorm room, both no windows. Everyone will get bedsheets when you check in, and you need to do the bedding by yourself, also need to take them off when you check out. No forks provided for the breakfast, only spoons and knives, but I saw a woman asked a fork.
1. Hostel is accessible by a shot walk to almost all places 2. Easy commute from station to the hostel using T4 line with minimal walk time. 3. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and neat 4. Bedsheets and towels are fresh and clean 5. There is Option to leave the baggage at the facility safely, before the checkin. 6. There are keys to store your smaller important items. I could fit a bagpack! 7. Breakfast is decent. As a vegetarian not a huge spread, but definitely stomach filling food. More than anything, i felt supersafe!
Had a great stay at Hostel De Draeke! The location was perfect, central to all the major landmarks and squares that we wanted to visit in Ghent. The hostel was clean and well organized, the staff at check in were helpful and warm. We couldn't quite get the thermostat to work in cooling the room down, but we never made it down to ask because we had limited time there. I didnt find the beds overly comfortable, and my husband didnt find the sheets comfortable. Otherwise would be 5 stars!
For me everything was perfect for what I needed. The hostel is in a very good location, 4 minutes from the city center with safe sourrandings. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was included in the price, which was a nice surprise.
Fantastic hostel, super nice staff (thank you Steven), clean, near everything, free breakfast that after a rave saved my life. Definitely recommended
