The hotel is beautiful, with an elegant classic interior and the charm of a historic European property. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. I have no complaints about the accommodation itself. Unfortunately, all the positive impressions were overshadowed by the service at the front desk. The staff were clearly inexperienced and insufficiently trained. A huge thank you to the account department staff who resolved the issues that arose and smoothed out the negative emotions. Overall, the hotel itself deserves praise for its beautiful atmosphere and comfortable rooms.
Nice old hotel in the center of Bruxelles. Good large room with air conditioning on 7th floor. Excellent housekeeping. Good hotel bar. Ok front desk with varying English skills and varying interest in guests. Did not try breakfast or fitness. Within walking distance of Grand Place and close to Metro and train station. The surrounding area has too many sex shops and homeless people to my liking.
Beautiful, elegant hotel! Extremely comfortable. Check in was easy and staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. We were there with a 4 yr old, and fully accommodated. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!
Me and my wife stayed 2 weeks in room 616 (large spacious) due to my business trip. Hotel was choosen by our company and paid by themselves too. However, I was told (and charged) 35 Euros/night for additional guest (my spouse) 490 Euros total. Hence I knew it will be boring to each same open buffet breakfast for 14 consecutive days, I have requested to remove breakfast from this additional charge at the check-in. My request was rejected and I was told that's not possible. When I received my room card, card envelope was having 2 options (Breakfast included, Breakfast excluded). No one could able to explain why they can't remove the breakfast from extra charges. And I was right. 14 consecutive days, only 2% of the foods in the buffet has been changed. It is too boring to eat everyday! And yet we have realized after one week of boring breakfast (by seeing others ordering from the waiters), it is possible order eggs (as you like boiled, fried, omlette etc.) from the kitchen. I highly recommend you to train your waiters in Charleston Room to approach every guest if they want to have eggs of their likes. Location was good and easy to reach many of the attactions, shopping centers and restaurants. Although it wasn't felt safe due to homeless people surrounded which hotel management can't do anything about it. Bottom line, Hotel is 100 years old, thus it feels antique and unique. However, I would question trice to stay in this hotel in the future.
