What a find. Nüetnigenough is an intimate little restaurant with only nine tables, and from the moment you sit down you get the impression that this is a place that takes its food very seriously. The service was excellent throughout. The waiters were polite, knowledgeable and genuinely happy to offer suggestions, but equally happy to let you take your time. What particularly impressed me was that, despite a queue of people waiting outside, I never once felt hurried or under any pressure to finish. I started with the bone marrow, and it was staggeringly good. It looked fantastic, tasted incredible and was, quite simply, perfect. Even the accompanying bread was noteworthy — fresh, moreish and of excellent quality. For my main course I chose the beef stew, served with stomp mash and fresh bread. Again, it was excellent. One of the things that struck me was the attention paid even to the smallest details. The simple side salad contained beautifully fresh, crisp, untarnished leaves. Nothing here felt like an felt like an afterthought. The food is rich — particularly having bone marrow followed by beef — and if I were searching for one criticism, it would be that the richness really benefits from something to cut through it. A good, highly carbonated Belgian beer would probably be good, alternatively, an intensely high mineral water would have completed the meal for me and been gastronomically perfect - Vichy Catalan or Gerolsteiner stand out for me here. Despite being completely full, I was determined to finish everything. Perhaps the greatest compliment I can give Nüetnigenough is that I spent much of the meal thinking about people I know and wondering what they would make of the place if I brought them here. This isn’t simply somewhere I enjoyed eating; it’s somewhere I would genuinely love to return to. An excellent little restaurant and one of the highlights of my visit to Brussels.
We stopped here for dinner for our one night in Brussels and it was fantastic. The beef stew with stoemp was delicious - the seasoning was well balanced and the beef was incredibly tender - and the burrata appetizer was excellent. We also tried the fried smelts, which were a great little snack.
This is a very small and cosy hidden gem! I went all in Belgian. I started with mussels. They were fresh and cooked properly. I went with Flemish Beef stew. It came with a side of salad and mashed potatoes (You can order it with Belgian fries too). The salad dressing was mustard-based, and very well balanced. The Beef stew was excellent. I don’t have more words to describe it! The mashed potatoes too. The service is extremely friendly. In fact, there two young servers handling everybody. They are doing an outstanding job! The restaurant itself is very small and the ambiance is exquisite. Expect to wait for a while to get a table! I waited 30 minutes. Highly recommended!
I had a great experience here. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and everything arrived very quickly. The staff were friendly and efficient, making the whole experience very enjoyable. The only small downside was that there was no air conditioning inside. I understand that very hot weather is not that common here, but on the day of my visit it was quite warm, so having air conditioning would have made the experience even more comfortable. Other than that, everything was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would happily visit again.
Quaint restaurant off the beaten path. There are very few seats, so try to get there before the rush. Before we finished, there were no more seats. We ordered the Meatloaf with Fries and the Pork Roast with vegetables. We shared a salad with a light dressing. My Meatloaf was well seasoned and had a good gravy, but it may have been pork. Expecting beef, I was slightly concerned but it was still good. The Fries were the best I have had in Europe. They were hot and crispy and even though they only had mayonnaise for dipping, I enjoyed them. The Pork Loin was cooked well with a crispy outer layer. That was an unexpected surprise. The vegetables seemed fresh and cooked nicely. If you catch it at the right time, I suggest you try it.
