For me, a retro hotel with modern and eco elements in a dark design (lobby and corridors). Quite a pleasant, quiet hotel in the wider city center, great location - accessible by metro about 500 meters from Luisa station or by tram - stop about 80 meters away. The room was large enough and bright (two large opening windows). Our room was at the back, so it was very quiet. I don't know how it is with rooms facing a busy street where trams also run, but if soundproof windows were used, it would probably be ok. The bathroom was nicely designed, the room was clean except for the curtains, which could really use washing sometimes. There was a lot of dust on them at the top. The beds and floor were clean and fresh. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Breakfast was completely satisfactory, everything was fresh, a large selection and if you have an empty bottle you can fill it with eco water from the dispenser on the right behind the elevator. The staff was more or less helpful, younger people and women were nice, older men were a bit grumpy. For me, the hotel is suitable for both business trips and short stays for a city break. The price-performance ratio is good. I spent 5 nights there and if I return to Brussels, this hotel will be my choice.
Stayed here for a conference, so I didn't pay for the room myself. I didn't feel the hotel lived up to its 4-star rating. There were many small issues that, when combined, significantly decreased the overall quality of my stay. The design of the rooms, corridors, gym, and toilets was very dark and badly lit, while trying too hard to be "cool," which I didn't find pleasing (though that is just my personal preference). I was assigned a connecting room with a locked door to the next room, and I could hear absolutely everything happening next door. There is very little privacy if you get this type of room. I frequently get assigned this type of room in hotels, however this was the first time I felt, as if I was sharing the room with someone. I appreciated being able to open the windows to let some fresh air in; however, the window seal was broken, making the room very cold and noisy. The poor little AC unit was absolutely not sufficient to heat up such a large room. I also used the gym. It was small, but functional. Since there were no windows, the air was almost unbreathable. And there were random holes in the ceiling, that decreased the overall appearance of the space. On the plus side, I appreciated the wide variety of equipment, and the free apples provided as a workout snack. I found it very odd that the hotel tries to be extremely ecological by not cleaning the rooms daily and removing in-room phones, yet still provides single-use stirrers for tea/coffee in the rooms and everywhere else. These could easily be replaced with reusable metal spoons for better sustainability and hygiene. The hotel tries to shame you into using the stairs by placing "motivational" posters next to the elevators. Meanwhile, the elevators are incredibly slow and take a long time to close the doors (even when you press the close button). Worse, the floor of the elevator doesn't align properly with the building floor, so my colleagues and I constantly found ourselves tripping when stepping in or out. I did, however, really appreciate the express elevator that only runs between the ground floor and the 8th floor. Since I stayed for a conference, we also used the meeting rooms on 8th floor. The lighting was very dim and flickering, making it almost unusable. The projector wasn't bright enough either, so if you were on the other side of the room, you couldn't see the details on the screen properly. This was the first time I've encountered these types of problems in a hotel event space, and the low quality caught me by surprise. On the bright side, the staff was very helpful and always approachable whenever there was an issue. It was easy to ask for more tea for the room when I ran out. Additionally, the breakfast buffet was large and diverse. I found myself trying something different every day, and the food was very good.
Stayed here for a few days and honestly really enjoyed it. The hotel is very beautiful and comfortable, located in a good and safe area of Brussels. The city center is around a 30-minute walk away if you take your time, and there’s also easy access to public transport nearby. The hotel itself has a really cozy atmosphere, with a bar and lounge area on the ground floor where I went almost every evening after walking around the city. It’s a super relaxing place with a great vibe 🔥 The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they speak English very well, which made everything easy and comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, with a big comfortable bed and beautiful lighting, while the bathroom and shower were also very clean and well maintained. Overall, I had a great experience staying here and would definitely recommend it to others visiting Brussels. Solid 4/5 ⭐
