Had dinner at this hotel restaurant while visiting Brussels. The ambience was cozy and elegant. Our meal choices were steak and salmon. Both were delicious.
This truly is a gem. It’s hard to not want to try everything. The excellent service is matched only by the superb food using great produce. Thanks to the chef, Ricardo, and the team for a great dinner service !
An overall great restaurant with nice classy dark interior, solid menu with nice fish dishes, great attentive service. We had crab rolls, salmon, beef tartare and finished off with the tarte tartin. Overall the food was very nice. The only thing was we went on a very hot day and the AC was broken so it was very hot inside we were basically melting and couldn’t wait to get out of there really
I rarely write reviews, but in this case I would like to express my disappointment with the restaurant Odette en ville. First of all, the noise level in the back dining room was extremely high, and the staff seemed very stressed. We also had to wait a very long time for our food. What bothered me most, however, was the lack of care and cleanliness in the presentation of my beef tartare. It was served without any garnish on a plain white plate, and the rim was covered in fingerprints – which looked very unappetizing. When we later decided not to order dessert, the menu was rather unkindly taken out of our hands. Overall, my visit was unfortunately very disappointing.
Odette en Ville knows exactly what it is and commits to it completely. The interior is all deep blacks and considered darkness, the kind of noir aesthetic that could easily tip into trying too hard but instead lands on sophisticated and stays there. It sets a tone from the moment you walk in and the rest of the experience holds it without wavering. The staff are excellent in the very specific way that comes from being exceptionally well trained rather than naturally warm, though the result is largely the same. Everyone has a role, everyone knows it, and the whole thing runs with a quiet precision that makes you feel genuinely looked after without ever feeling processed. For a restaurant at this level that is exactly the right calibration. The food is good and earns its place in the room it is served in, which is not always a given at this price point. This is not a Tuesday dinner spot or a casual monthly habit. It is a birthday, an anniversary, a business dinner where the venue is doing some of the work for you. For those occasions it delivers completely and then some. One of those places that reminds you why restaurants at this level exist.
