Our meal started very well. The bread, white asparagus, and cuttlefish were all excellent, and we were genuinely looking forward to the rest of the experience. Unfortunately, the service let the meal down. After finishing our starters, we waited nearly 40 minutes for our mains, while the mushroom dish that was supposed to be a starter arrived at the same time as the main courses. We mentioned during the wait that we had a Eurostar to catch, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. By the time the food arrived, we had only a few minutes left before needing to leave, meaning we had to rush through two courses in about five minutes. The turbot was nicely cooked, but the portion was very small for €31. It’s disappointing because the food showed a lot of potential, and the meal started on such a positive note. Better communication and more attentive service would have made a significant difference. Sadly, this ended up being a frustrating final dining experience in Brussels.
Absolutely loved Kline. The whole experience felt warm, thoughtful, and beautifully put together from start to finish. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting, and every detail felt intentional without being pretentious. One of the highlights was the goat’s feet cookies — unique, memorable, and genuinely delicious. They were the kind of dish you keep thinking about after the meal is over. A wonderful restaurant in Belgium that I would happily recommend and return to.
Starters and mains were good but desserts were pretty bad. The chocolade sorbet should be called cacao sorbet instead ( very bitter and tasteless, no contrasts) they say all dishes are to share but is only one person portions
For the price the food is ok. Highly technical dishes, so you can see where your money goes. Highly "accurate" to the vision. As you can see what they intended to do, and that they have achieved that. However, some the dishes didn't quite feel well rounded enough or cohesive. They just feel like they're missing something. Nothing really has that "more-ish" factor. The bread was fantastic though, and he creativity and boldness to experiment is there. Between here, and somewhere that does a relatively simple, but well rounded, dish very well - I would pick the simple dish every time.
I was in a bad mood when I arrived but once I started eating, my mood improved immensely. Excellent food! We sat in the window next to the kitchen away from other diners and TBH I kinda liked it and recommend it. Really enjoyed watching the kitchen in action! They don’t have a huge wine list, which is not a big deal but just letting you know. Thoroughly enjoyed eating here and highly recommend.
