We had lovely experience! The food was delicious and arrived very fast, the staff was very friendly and nice. A great discovery.
How is this place not booked out every evening? Impeccable service — the waiter was so attentive, if I spilt something it was wiped up within seconds and had incredible wine suggestions. The food was clean and ingredients were so fresh and delicious! Ambience was lovely. I liked how it felt very cozy and intimate ❤️❤️
Authentic contemporary Italian on Avenue Louise From the moment we walked into Mimi on Avenue Louise, we felt we had discovered a little piece of Italy in the heart of Brussels. The atmosphere is warm and elegant without ever feeling pretentious, with a cosy design that immediately puts you at ease. The menu is concise but very well thought out, and you can taste that they work with seasonal ingredients and a lot of care in every dish. We started with the vitello tonnato and the beef carpaccio: both were perfectly sliced, generously garnished and beautifully plated, already setting the tone for the rest of the evening. The octopus was one of the stars of the meal – cooked to perfection, tender inside with a light char, and paired with a creamy sauce and vegetables that really complemented it instead of hiding it. As Italians-at-heart and pasta lovers, we were especially impressed by the primi. The fresh stuffed pasta was delicate and full of flavour, and the carbonara was simply outstanding: al dente pasta, a silky sauce and generous, crispy guanciale served in a gorgeous plate that made the dish look as good as it tasted. Portions are balanced so you can enjoy a full three-course meal without feeling too heavy. Desserts were on the same high level. The tiramisù was textbook-perfect – airy, not too sweet and with a great coffee kick – while the chocolate fondant with ice cream offered the ideal indulgent finish for the meal. You can see that the kitchen pays attention to details, from textures to presentation; each plate that arrived at our table could have been photographed for a cookbook. Service was friendly, professional and attentive throughout the evening. The staff took the time to explain the dishes, checked in at the right moments, and made us feel genuinely welcome, which is sadly not always the case in busy city-centre restaurants. The overall experience, from the quality of the food to the relaxed yet refined ambiance, fully justifies the address and makes Mimi a place we will happily recommend to friends and visitors. As a funny side note, I even managed to embarrass myself a little during the evening by making a joke about “Mimì e la nazionale di pallavolo”, the volleyball cartoon where the song says she throws hurricanes with her hands. I wanted to compare that image to the “good hands” of Mimi in the kitchen, capable of creating dishes with the same power and energy – just in a much more delicious form. The team took it with a smile, which perfectly sums up the spirit of the place: professional, kind and full of passion. In short, Mimi is exactly the kind of contemporary Italian restaurant Avenue Louise needed: creative cuisine rooted in tradition, seasonal products, and a team that clearly works with passion. We will definitely be back.
The restaurant is super cute, feels super cozy. The food was 10/10. I enjoyed soooo much. But the most amazing thing was the attention. He makes sure all the time you’re okay and comfortable, what you like and what not. I would recommend this to everyone, and more for special occassions.
