A long overdue review: Used to be a huge fan and a very loyal customer of Wittamer for over a decade, but since it’s been taken over and not run by the family anymore, the quality and consistency have gone down. Gone is the traditional elegance and quality consistency that the Wittamer family had kept for generations and the brand was well-known for. The new Wittamer is now more commercial, less exclusive, and more a revenue-making brand than a passionate family institution. The Wittamer Black Forest cake, or the special edition: Forêt Noire Rouge Forever, was one of my favourites and I’d always get it for special occasions, including Valentine’s Day. This year is by far the most disappointing: smaller, not a great price-quality ratio, and the sponge cake inside was so dry and rather bland. A far cry from the usually moist, delicious Wittamer specialty of the last decade. Other creations like Manjari and Samba have all gotten a makeover, visually might be more contemporary and appealing, but nothing to match its former glory as far as taste is concerned. What a shame.
My sister and I really wanted to try the desserts from here, since we knew its popularity. We tried some sweets and drinks and also bought gifts. Sophie, the cheerful girl who served us, was so sweet and patient. It was our first day in Bruxelles and she made our visit better and more fun. So thank you Sophie! Hope you'll visit Italy soon again! Definitely go there and try everything you can. It's a wonder for the eyes to see such beautiful sweets and chocolates. And of course the experience is even nicer thanks to the kind personnel
Walked to get some hot chocolate. It was definitely delicious. The pastries looked amazing too but just tried the hot chocolate. The store had outside decorations for Christmas. Very festive
These guys supply pastries to the Royal so you know they are legit! You would be spoilt for sweet choices here. The pastries we had were all very good, and we definitely left with a bit of a sugar high. Loved that they did oat milk matcha lattes. You can’t go wrong with ordering any of the croissants/ pastries or the waffles.
My wife doesn’t like sweets. She doesn’t like chocolate also! But…….. She cannot resist the temptation and the beauty of the pastry here, and we know why the Belgian royal family loves the pastry here! We too s break here for our guided city tour and it was so good! The staffs were also amazing and friendly! I highly recommend
