Fellini Restaurant

We visited Fellini in Leuven yesterday evening with a group of six friends, and overall we had a pleasant night with good food, attentive service, and a nice atmosphere, although there were a few points that could be improved. I started with the Pinsa Cesare as a starter, and this was definitely one of the highlights of the evening for me. The portion was very generous, almost large enough to share, and the flavour was really enjoyable. The ingredients tasted fresh and the dish was well presented. That being said, it was a little on the salty side, which was something we also noticed in some of the other dishes throughout the evening. It did not ruin the experience, but it was clearly a recurring detail. For my main course, I had the Gnocco Caruso. Unfortunately, this was less impressive than the starter. The dish felt a bit underwhelming in flavour, with not much meat in it, and it came across as quite heavy and greasy. Compared to the pinsa, it lacked balance and character, which was a shame because the idea of the dish sounded promising. The service was very attentive and friendly. Perhaps even a little too attentive at times, as it occasionally felt slightly intrusive. Of course, that may simply be a matter of personal perception, and it is always better than being ignored. Because of the warm weather, we ordered a lot of water, along with some cocktails and beer. In the end, we paid around €60 per person, which felt reasonable for the overall experience. All in all, we had a good evening at Fellini, with enjoyable moments, good service, and a few areas where the food could be refined.
Very delicious food, the fried burrata was just amaaaazinnng! Staff were very friendly and nice! Highly recommended!
If you want to enjoy Italian food in Leuven, I can’t recommend this place highly enough. You really notice the fresh ingredients and the attention to detail in every dish. There’s a great selection of vegetarian options, and the wine was excellent. Very nice service too! We had a lovely evening and I can’t wait to go back.
Small but cosy Italian restaurant in the city centre of Leuven with a beautiful terrace which is covered in winter. Fellini is specialised in house-made Roman gnocchi but their menu offers also a variety of other authentic Italian specialties, all prepared with fresh ingredients. The dishes were all delicious and very nicely prepared. The staff was very welcoming but the service was a bit slow.
