Very good location in center of Ghent. The service is on point, there are a lot of waiters and the food is good. Overall had a nice experience here for some Belgian food
Lovely spot. Easy kids menu and cheap for them to let the adults get some good food, wine and beer. Service was exceptional! Great staff who provided things for kids to color and food recommendations! Would come back in a heart beat. Food was delicious! Well prepared! Note: may have to make reservations for parties over 4
Outstanding Service from Nicholas!! Walking up to the restaurant you will notice it feels very comfortable, classy, outside has seating. Walking inside is a completely different feel of that classic retro feel. Very classy, staff is extremely attentive. This was such a great dining experience- I requested the house cocktail and it was delicious! The Shrimp Crockets were creamy on the inside with a great crisp shell, served with lemon with a bed of salad in the center. Asparagus the Flemish way, soft, on a butter base with an egg compote on top. I ordered the Waterzooi - wow! This dish is delicious, creamy, white sauce base with potatoes and shredded carrots and celery - beware, this is a lot of food! If you want to try this dish I highly recommend it but do share unless you’re looking for a hearty meal on your own. Waterzooi is the most famous traditional dish from Ghent—a rich, comforting creamy stew that dates back to the Middle Ages. Traditional is fish but I had chicken. My daughter (13yo) got the chicken fingers and loved them. My niece got the shrimp scampi and was very happy with it. The atmosphere in here is great, lots of people enjoying a great meal experience. We went at about 1pm and left around 2:30. I do recommend reservations if they’re available, the reason I recommend the reservations is because you definitely want to eat here, don’t risk not getting in. I don’t want to ruin this part but I want to say, the way the check came out was a really cool touch and I LOVE how it included a business card! Well done to the owner/manager/staff for creating a great dining experience from start to finish! Thank you for this wonderful dinning experience!
Had an amazing dinner on my first day in Ghent during my visit in September 2024. The carpaccio was out of this world. Their specialty stewed beef was also great. Highly recommend dining place even though crowded at night.
Absolutely amazing. From the moment I stepped in, they were welcoming. The ambiance is elegant but relaxing. The servers are spectacular. Mine showed me the proper belgium was on how to eat the flemmish stew which I found endearing as not many would go out of their way to explain how they typically consume their natural meals. The food was definitely filling and hearty but given the service I had to do a dessert. I highly recommend coming here. If not for the food, definitely for the service. Its above and beyond. You arent rushed. And you are well taken care of in the same regard as all other diners. Thank you for making my last meal in belgium memorable!!
