The wait staff was excellent and the food was incredible. We had lamb cooked with figs. We eat a lot of lamb and this dish was the best we have ever had. The sorbet for dessert was also amazing. It was very hot when we we there and we wished there had been cooler seating options available. Highly recommend this place!
Exquisite and incredible food. Full of flavours. Even the chocolate cake was surprising. A true 10/10 in terms of food, atmosphere and service. Will definitely come back!
It’s hard to even describe how good the food was. Chef Denis is doing an excellent job mixing flavors and bringing comfort and quality to every table. Wine pairing done by a sommelier Kevin is superb and a great cherry on the top of this restaurant’s service.
Truly excellent. From the warm welcome to the detailed knowledge of the wine menu and how it would pair with what we were considering eating, every aspect of this restaurant is top-notch. Every single dish that we ordered was expertly crafted. It can be tricky to balance high quality cuisine with down-to-earth eating but Le Tournant manages it perfectly. Every bite of every element on every dish was just perfectly prepared with a high degree of skill. This is unfussy food that respects the origins of the dishes and ingredients, prepared to a high standard without requiring pretentious techniques for the food to shine. Very interesting to find this kind of fusion too! It's easy to miss that it is in fact a fusion restaurant, but again not over-done; retaining it's French character and origins of the cuisine with just enough of a hint of Japanese to surprise and delight you. Admittedly the option of sake instead of wine does somewhat give it away... Very well done! I would very strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone and I doubt that I will ever forget the meal that I had here.
First thing first, the chef was so understanding and responsive when I made reservation, very much appreciate it. Service was very professional and the waitress was super nice and engaging. Yet, the service might appear a bit of a rush. But that has to do with the 2 hours slot. The overall ambiance was really relaxing and cozy. Coming to the best part; Food wise: the quality of the ingredients are outstanding, I think everything is carefully sourced, and I was able to see that. The food was tasty, and not overwhelming. The portions are generous, which stood out. The only thing, we did not prefer, the pairing of steak in the main course with the salad. It did not fit, it cooled the steak and did not go well, in my opinion, in terms of taste and interest. I think the quality and the taste of the food would be even higher if paired with a special homemade sauce and more seasonal veggie. I raised this to the waitress and she told me it has to do with the liking of the chef and how he used to eat steak. So it is really a matter of preference. This is a long review, because the restaurant and the staff really deserve to be praised for the great work they do. Highly recommend it, and cannot wait to go back.
