Been to the one in Leuven before which was a great experience - this time in Holsbeek and we were disappointed - it started with the reservation process where you now have to pay a deposit of 101.50 EUR - only 100 EUR will be deducted from your final receipt. I actually wrote to the restaurant three weeks before our reservation to cancel it and to get my deposit back - unfortunately that did not happen and I wrote to them a few days before the reservation saying that if my deposit was not going to be returned then I would like my reservation back - you would expect a better service from this kind of restaurant - upon arrival we were nicely shown our table - atmosphere is alright - the open view kitchen in Leuven was nicer - then we were were the first appetisers we took a cocktail as well - it was good but nothing spectacular - it was there special march menu with Asian influences - main course my langoustine was over cooked - the duck was good but again I would expect more from this restaurant - we had two desserts - the first one a reinvented rice pudding that was really lacking some spices- cinnamon for example and more banana - overall we were also disappointed with the service maybe because we didn’t take the wine pairing - we felt a bit left alone - disappointing for the price paid - coffee and tea were overpriced and my fresh ginger tea didn’t taste of much - we won’t come back and I should have insisted even more on getting my deposit back and keeping my cancellation.
