Pro Velo
Brussels
Set up in 1992 to promote cycling as a means of transport and of discovery, Pro Velo has greatly expanded. Today, the nonprofit association offers authorities, companies, schools and individuals a range of services to promote the bicycle and its use in the best possible conditions : safe and comfortable.
In their shared headquarters at the Cyclists’ House (Maison des Cyclistes/Fietsershuis), Pro Velo works hand in hand with the two Belgian cyclists’ associations : GRACQ and Fietsersbond. In addition to guided tours and a bike hire service, Pro Velo also has a cycling infrastructure consultancy office, an educational department working in schools and with adults, a business services department, and an events unit, whose year is marked by two major events : Bike Experience (mid-May) and Car-free Day (mid-September)
