House of Waffles
Brussels

I wish I could give this place even more stars. Literally no better waffles in all of Belgium in my opinion. Perfect Brussels waffles (they have Liege too but we didn’t try), so crispy and airy and light, incredible sides of ice cream, fruits, cream and dark melted chocolate. Nothing on top, so everything can be adjusted. Want anything else, no problem, just ask. Absolutely worth the price. There was also“make your own waffle” and syrup for my American child. Beautiful savory options (we tried the spicy guacamole) and nice selection of drinks. Very friendly service and indoor-outdoor seating. Great location on Graslei. Just opposite the Marriott where we were staying. We came back twice after trying suboptimal waffles elsewhere. Would come back again if we are back in Ghent. Chef’s kiss!
Such a creative twist on waffles! The presentation is absolutely stunning. The savory option with mozzarella, pesto, and balsamic is a must-try if you want something different and savory. Pair it with their classic sweet strawberry and cream waffle for the perfect balance. 10/10!
Had waffles at House of Waffles and they were absolutely delicious. The waffles were beautiful, fresh, crunchy and full of flavour, exactly what you hope for when trying Belgian waffles. Definitely one of the highlights of visiting Ghent. A must-try when in Belgium, and especially if you are visiting Ghent.
I was a little leery about the savory waffles at first, but I tried the Italiano Veri — and oh my goodness, it was DELICIOUS! Others in my party ordered the Soft & Sweet Chuck Berry, Soft & Sweet Mikado, and the Club BLT. Everyone cleaned their plate. The server was very sweet and efficient, too. Great experience all around!
I was here to escape heavy snow, and it turned out to be a perfect break. It was quiet when I arrived, which made it feel warm and cozy compared to the freezing weather outside. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. The waffle was freshly made, crisp on the outside and soft inside. Pairing it with a Belgian beer in the middle of winter felt absolutely supreme. If you’re visiting during cold weather, this is a great spot to warm up and slow down for a bit.
