The food here was good but the overall experience was not special. A little bit away from the centre of town. We ordered water and got one of those overweight bottles. These days the better restaurants have worked out that it's better to provide their own filtered water. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing environmentally friendly about bottled water. Heavy glass water bottles are an environmental disgrace... even if they come with designer labels. I also counted five light bulbs that hadn't been replaced. Dulls the atmosphere a bit. If you can't change a light bulb what else can't you do?
I had a wonderful dinner at Roots with a group of ten people. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Every dish was prepared with great care and attention to detail. The atmosphere was warm, intimate and welcoming, making us feel at home. A special thank you to our waitress, Gaia, who was incredibly kind, smiling and attentive throughout the evening. She made our experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend Roots and would be happy to come back!
The food was amazing, worth for the price. We got a sharing menu for 2 people (48€ in total). For that price you get 6 skewers, hummus, tzatziki, eggplant salad and some other salad. I also took a mango fresh juice, incredibly tasty but a bit pricy. The place was crowded, all tables were reserved at dinner time (it was a public holiday), so making a reservation is a good idea.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food is outstanding and truly captures the authentic flavors of the dishes. The presentation is just as impressive. it’s the kind of place where you enjoy the food with your eyes before even taking the first bite. The service is excellent, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Wishing you continued success! This place has become a must-visit for me every time I’m in the city.
This place is a hidden gem in Leuven. Super authentic and delicious food. I loved the mixed grill for 1 person, and the tea that was served in the most lovely way. It’s ran by a super kind couple that will make sure you have a wonderful experience! Oh! Please order the Kerkeda (hibiscus drink). Shokran :)
